Mediana
Consultoria has developed a close relationship with several
international organizations. For more than 10 years it has
advised and provided consulting services to
the
Organization of Americam
States (OAS), mainly in electoral assistance projects and electoral surveys. The same activities were
carried out in Africa for the United Nations (UN).
Mediana planned and implemented more than 30 quick-counts for
the OAS and UN as part of the activities of electoral
observation missions. The quick-count is a statistical tool used
to project election results within one or two hours after the
poll closing based on a sample of polling stations. The OAS uses the projections to evaluate
the oficial results and, thus, the fairness and transparency of
the electoral act.
